[A Paris Letter]

The Illustrated London News, vol. 40, no. 1141, p. 429.

April 26, 1862

A Paris letter in the Ind├ępendance states that the French Government has sent the Catinat and Gassende to the United States, to be present at any maritime conflicts that may take place between the North and the South; the former vessel is ordered to Hampton Roads, and the latter to the neighbourhood of New Orleans.
