[The Barque Edwin]

The Illustrated London News, vol. 47, no. 1340, p. 403.

October 28, 1865

The barque Edwin, arrived at New York, reports having passed, on the 10th of September, in lat. 52, long. 34'48, a red buoy marked "Telegraph, No. 3," or "5." The red flag was nearly gone, and the captain of the Edwin believed the buoy was loose from the cable.
