[Among the Books Sold]

The Illustrated London News, vol. 47, no. 1338, p. 370.

October 14, 1865

Among the books sold at a late extensive book-trade sale at New York was a large number of bibles, prayer-books, and other religious works, that had been captured on blockade-runners. They were a donation from the British and Foreign Bible Society to the Confederate army.
