[The Cable of the Victoria Extension]

The cable of the Victoria extension of the Oregon and Washington Territory line of telegraph, which it was intended to lay across the Strait of San Juan de Fuca, has been lost on board the Thebes, off Cape Horn, on her voyage from London.
