[A Report is Prevalent]

The Illustrated London News, vol. 42, no. 1187, p. 159.

February 7, 1863

A report is prevalent that the Alabama has captured one of the Californian gold-ships bound for New York with a million and a half of dollars in he. specie. The authority for the report is a letter brought by the West Indian mail-steamer.
