...The Civil War in America--At the evening sitting Mr. W. E. Forster gave notice that, in the event of Mr. Lindsay's motion in favour of acknowledging the independence of the Confederate States becoming a substantive motion, he should propose, as an amendment, that the House would cordially support her Majesty's Government in the policy of non-intervention in the civil war now being waged in America.
