[A Fearful Explosion has Taken Place]

The Illustrated London News, vol. 38, no. 1088, p. 432.

May 11, 1861

A fearful explosion has taken place at the oil-wells in Buchanan Farm, Pennsylvania. Fifteen persons were killed, and the oil-wells were on fire.
