[The New York Herald]

The Illustrated London News, vol. 38, no. 1070, p. 49.

January 19, 1861

The New York Herald says that there are 10,000 tailors (men and women) out of employment at the present time in New York. It estimates that the number depending upon those unemployed for sustenance will swell the total up to 28,000.
